VIOLETS

Viola belongs to a large group of hardy perennials native to the north temperate regions, South America, eastern Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Viola is an old Latin name used by Virgil, a Roman poet writing before the time of Christ. These flowers have a wide range of beautiful rock garden and woodland plants as well as horticulturally developed flowers. Pansies belong to the same family. Colors can vary from white, to pink, to yellow and on to purple.
