DOGWOOD

Dogwood belongs to the genus Cornus consisting mostly of leaf-losing trees and shrubs. About forty kinds are found in the Northern Hemisphere. The most common types are white or in shades of pink. They make a breath-taking display on the mountainsides of the Appalachian range in the spring.
